Cadillac Series 62 Superior Coach 1960
This 1960 Cadillac, built by Superior Coach, represents the absolute top segment of its era. When delivered new, it was among the most exclusive funeral vehicles available. With its distinctive tailfins, whitewall tyres, wrap-around windshield, light pink metallic paint and imposing appearance, it remains a vehicle that immediately captures attention.
The vehicle is configured as a so-called side loader. The rear doors, including the B-pillar, open in a mirrored fashion, while the casket floor can swing out to either the left or right side, allowing loading from the side of the vehicle.
The Cadillac starts, drives, brakes and steers, but requires attention in several areas. Both the bodywork and interior reflect that this vehicle has accumulated more than six decades of experience. Nevertheless, the vehicle remains complete and retains many original details. Difficult-to-replace components, such as the glass, are all still present and undamaged.
A previous owner maintained the Cadillac in operational condition for many years with great care. Extensive documentation covering the vehicle and the work carried out over the years has been preserved. In addition, numerous spare parts are included, including two complete automatic transmissions and various smaller components.
A remarkable classic with an impressive presence, extensive history and significant potential to once again take a prominent place within a collection or even within the funeral profession.
